How many companies in cities across Los Angeles County received FDA citations in May?

There were four companies in cities associated with Los Angeles County that received FDA citations as a result of four inspections conducted in the county in May, according to reports from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This is a 20% decrease from the number of companies cited in the previous month.

The citations in the county include:

• You did not implement adequate temperature controls, monitoring, corrective action and verification for foods that require temperature control for safety.
• You are not monitoring the sanitation conditions and practices with sufficient frequency to assure conformance with current good manufacturing practice including protection of food, food packaging material, and food contact surfaces from adulteration.
• Your records do not always contain the actual values and observations obtained during monitoring.

All of the companies cited were involved in the Food and Cosmetics sector.

All of the companies cited should take voluntary actions to correct their managing operations.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.

According to its website, the FDA is a government agency that is primarily responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products for safety quality.
