On Wednesday, April 23, former La Mirada High School standout Rebecca Eckart’s current college team, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, won 1-0 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Valparaiso Beacons.
The game took place at Melissa Cook Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Beacons this season.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The week of Monday, Sept. 8 will see these former Southeast Los Angeles County area high school standouts in action.
