California State Assembly District 59 issued the following announcement on March 13.
In an abundance of caution, the Governor of California and the Mayor of Los Angeles have implemented major public gathering restrictions limiting events to no more than 250 persons and have asked that non-essential travel be limited or postponed.
Los Angeles Unified School District has also announced all schools in LAUSD will remain closed for a two- week period.
These actions will help curb the spread and contraction of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Additional preventative measures you can take include regularly washing your hands for a minimum of 20-seconds, working from home (if possible) and staying away from others if you feel ill.
My office will remain open to assist with constituent services.
I will continue to monitor the situation and remain in contact with the Governor’s office to provide timely updates on COVID-19 along with state and local plans to contend with school and business closures.
You can continue to follow my Twitter and Facebook feeds for the latest news on the matter or visit the California Department of Public Health at www.cdph.ca.gov.
This is the time to remain calm and informed. Stay safe and vigilant.

Assemblymember, 59th District
